Mission Statement: The mission of the Burke County Soil Conservation District is to promote soil and water conservation by offering financial, technical, informational and educational assistance and opportunities to the people of the district.
Burke Soil Conservation District was established in 1946, and was originally split into two divisions; East and West, until 1961. The county lies in north-west North Dakota and borders Canada. The county seat is Bowbells, which also houses the SCD office in the USDA Service Center. Burke County has a total land area of 1,104 square miles.
